Re: Henry and Gordon
Henry's cage had a garland from pets@home running along the top front for decorative purposes.
It looked pretty.... until Henry decided to take it down.
One morning i found the garland on the floor. Henry had climbed up and bitten through the string holding it up on Both sides. I put it up again.
Two mornings later it was on the floor again, Henry had bitten through the string on Both sides again.
Ok Henry. No more garlands. You made your point.
I won't bother with Christmas decorations in Henry's cage because he'd only take them down again, the little hooligan.

Re: Henry and Gordon
Personally I would keep him on the same food and supplement it, that's what I do.
Hows taming going? Is there a pic of the lil chap?

Gordon the adopted Robo is on the Rodipet dwarf mix plus various other foods he likes. There are some photos on this thread.
I don't think he'll ever be tame but i'm not fussed either way. He comes onto my hand to eat seeds but won't hop into a mug to come out of his cage. He seems happy in his tank and looks at me when i chat to him.
Henry is a tame but not very sociable Syrian hamster i've had since March and bought him as a baby from pets@home.

Well there's no problem with that, some rather just hamster. I guess as long as he can be handled for a quick check over that's the main thing

Nah, i can only handle my Syrian, my Robo i can't catch without stressing him so won't do that and my Dwarf Hybrid bites and totally refuses to get picked up. He freaks out and throws himself about when i try.
Robo Gordon lives in a fish tank so i can observe him closely and Percy dwarf hops into his mug to go in his playpen where i can observe him. Best i can do.

Well you've proven already that you've found another less stressful way. The robo looks adorable by the way. You can see he's a lil shy though. Hopefully he'll warm up to you so he'll go into a mug like your dwarf and go into the play pen

Re: Henry and Gordon
I'm worried about wee Gordon. He sat there and let me stroke him briefly. He normally runs off and never lets me touch him.
Does he look ill? He's running around and currently dining in his toadstool.

Re: Henry and Gordon
Firstly little Gordon is absolutely beautiful!
Maybe he was just feeling particularly relaxed? Admiral Nelson did that at times too...he usually would not let you stroke him but every so often he'd forget himself and let you stroke him then suddenly snap out of it and scamper away. Keep an eye on little Gordon but I'm sure he is ok.

Thank you for the reassuring words. He's disappeared again and so has the cucumber. I noticed two new tunnel entrances tonight, maybe he was admiring his handiwork and forgot that he's meant to be scared of human hands...
unless they hold linseeds.
