Holding his tail straight up?

Hello there

So over the past few days i have noticed that my male syrian: Hamtaro has started to stick his tail straight up a lot. It doesn't always stick straight up, but for the most part it does. I know that with females it means that they are in heat, but Hamtaro is 100% a male so i found it to be a little bit weird. He is otherwise acting completely normal, but if anybody have any answers to this question i would love to hear them

Wow, what a coincidence - I was googling this exact question last night. Harvey (definitely a boy) also tends to stick his tail upright. The internet wasn't super helpful with its answers, though. It seemed to suggest he might be on the lookout for a lady-ham (this was also the explanation I found for some of his squeaks - he's a noisy git.)
Personally, I wonder if it's to hold his skirt (he's VERY hairy) away from his testicles to keep them cool in this heatwave!
I'd love to hear other ideas, though.
Is Hamtaro acting any differently? Harvey seems completely fine.

Hamtaro to is REALLY hairy to it would not surprise me if that was the case considering it has been pretty hot here as well. Hamtaro too seems completely fine. He eats and drinks well and roams around his cage every night so i don't think it's anything wrong with him. It's kinda interesting though almost everything i have read about it online is about female hamsters so it makes it almost seem as though it's uncommon for males to do it. I'm glad to know i'm not the only one with a weird hammy though
