re: Boromir: The elusive hamchild (Decisions! Who to welcome home)
I'm glad that your little darling is doing so great and your bond is growing stronger every day. It is always so wonderful when our little ones are so eager to come and greet us and come out for playtime, too.
As far as his name is concerned, I love both characters in LOTR and cried when each of them passed away tragically in the movies. I have to agree with your fb friends and say my favorite name between the two is definitely Boromir. There's just something about him and his internal struggle on how best to safe his beloved Gondor that touches me. He also was extremely valiant when it came to saving Peregrin Took and Meriadoc (aka Merry) Brandybuck from the orks and uruk-hai. At the end, when he pledged his allegiance to Aragorn, it was truly evident that he had found the right path and was finally at peace. Either name will be wonderful though. Lol, your little one surely looks intrigued with the voting results thus far!!!

Heehee! I definitely approve. I did my character analysis of Boromir to benefit SKB and any other members who aren't familiar with the amazing movie trilogy. SKB stated,
Quote:
I have never watched lotr so don't know which name would be best suited to him however I'm looking forward to hearing the name you decide upon.

re: Boromir: The elusive hamchild (Decisions! Who to welcome home)
So I'm not a great Amethyst atm... just seen the rescue posted that Hammy no3, the white guy, passed away in his sleep.
I know he was the runt but the videos I saw he looked a good size and healthy.
I knew it was a risk taking on from a litter with unknown background...but then ive had some that have lived past 3 years in a similar situ.
My last hammy I got was only with me 3 weeks before passing in her sleep and now im terrified I've made a bad decision and I'll find little Boromir gone soon too

I'm so sorry to hear about the little white guy & I can imagine how that would worry you too especially after losing your last ham so soon but hopefully it's just one of those inexplicable things with that one & Boromir is going to be fine.

re: Boromir: The elusive hamchild (Decisions! Who to welcome home)
I'm very sorry that the little white ham sadly passed away in his sleep. RIP, little one. After receiving this news, I totally understand you being extra concerned right now about Boromir since your last ham was with you for only a short time, too. The same scenario happened to me prior to adopting Eros, and I was apprehensive that things could go wrong because of inexplicable health issues that I was unaware of when I got my previous ham. However, I told myself to believe positively and thankfully she is still as happy and healthy as can be 15 months later. Even though it is hard, try your best to believe that the early passings of others doesn't necessarily mean that your darling Boromir will be dealt the same heartbreaking fate. Stay positive since Boromir looks perfectly happy, healthy, and well-adjusted. Keep focusing on the positive so you will be able to truly have a grand time with him and make tons of memories. I will be wishing you both the very best and keeping my fingers crossed that all will be fine. Hugs to you, Amethyst.

That first photo is so sweet - he looks very happy with his name choice. I think his name suits him (thanks dreamtree for the character analysis).
I am sorry to hear that the little white guy passed away - I can understand how worried you must be at the moment. I am keeping my finger crossed that Boromir will be fine.
