Hamster needs a bigger cage, Help!
Hello, this is my first post. My cousin no longer wanted his hamster so now I have it, but the cage it came with is way too small. I can't convince my parents to let me buy a bigger one because "it's just a cage". I feel really bad for my hamster, because the only thing stopping me from getting a bigger, better one is that it already has a cage. It's really frustrating does anyone have any advice to convince them.

I dont know which country you are in but zooplus has a very good priced cage called the alaska on their website. May be worth a look. Perhaps you could have it as a Christmas present?

Re: Hamster needs a bigger cage, Help!
Have you tried to show your parents that you've done some research into suitable cages?
Maybe if you could find some information to show them what a hamsters needs are they would be more likely to consider it.
There's lots of info here on cages & posts you could look through & maybe show them.
What cage is your hamster in now?
Have you asked about making a bin cage rather than buying a more expensive cage maybe?

Yes it would help to know which country you’re in to know what to suggest. How small is the cage. What you could do meanwhile is make it as interesting and cosy as possible and give your hamster plenty of out of cage time ina safe area. The bathtub (dry) is a good place for taming. If the hamster is already quite tame then onto of the bed with the edges blocked off with blankets eg but you’d still need to keep a close eye.
Do you have a photo of the cage? Could make some suggestions.

Re: Hamster needs a bigger cage, Help!
try opt for a bin cage as they are cheap and you can probably afford one youself.
or if all else fails ( i know this sounds evil but it might work ) purposely break the cage in some way so you have to get another one, and since you have to get a new cage you might as well ask for a big one
