Just catching up on the past few days! I love the pics of Cookie playing with the Legos.

Toffee was such a gorgeous ham with great coloring, too. I'm so sorry that wet tail caused her to have a shortened life, but the life she lived with you was truly a wonderful one. It was so sweet that she finally gained courage due to all of your patience, love, and encouragement. My favorite pic of her is the first one with her next to the green pompom chick.

Sherbet was a such a sweetie. I love all of her pics especially the top left pic with her snuggling near your neck. What a lovely place for her to have a snooze and cuddle at the same time! It is so evident that the two of you had such an amazing bond with one another.

Love all the photos of Cookie and Toffee and Sherbet

Happy and sad memories. All your girls look happy in their photos so you are doing something very right! So hard about Toffee and I am not surprised it is hard choosing photos of Sherbet - it's not that long.

I noticed your hamsters have all been female and am interested if you prefer females? It always interests me peoples choices - I know a lot of people choose boys because they don't go on heat, but some people find girls more active - possibly!

Thank You SabreRose, dreamtree1234, cypher and Serendipity7000. Sherbet initially used to sleep inside my jumper and hoodie but when I realised she was starting to chew holes in my clothes I didn’t let her sleep inside them anymore so instead she found another warm place to sleep which happened to be beside my neck. It was lovely in the winter as she kept my neck nice and warm! We did have a truly special bond.

Serendipity7000 – Yes I do prefer females – I just love how active and hyper they can be - although they go into heat and the smell can be quite unpleasant over the years of owning just females I have kind of gotten used to it and the smell doesn’t bother me as much as it used to. Also I found whenever I was shown both males and females when I was ready to welcome home a new hamster that the males would wake up and then quickly fall back asleep whereas the females would do they very best to win me over – so I always found it so impossible to resist them. However before getting Pumpkin I did consider possibly getting a male but something didn’t quite feel right and once I was shown Pumpkin my heart was stolen and knew she had to come home with me!

13th – Sherbet - Washing

Sherbet also always liked to look her best so washing and grooming was a top priority for her – it was always the first thing she did when she woke up from her beauty sleep as well as the first thing she did when she went in her playpen. I always enjoyed watching her having a wash she always made sure she never missed a part of her body.

These are a few photos I took of Sherbet grooming in her cardboard box salon …

Poppy and Lavender were gorgeous!!

I remember Caramel and Honey. You must have posted about them before. They were so pretty.

Toffee!!!! What a little heart melter. Cant wait for tomorrow.

Aww, Sherbet was a real cutie! I love all of her grooming pics. She looks extremely thorough in her cleaning; I love how she looks like she is doing some yoga stretches there, too. I can see how it must have been very entertaining to watch her do this. I really love watching hammies groom, too. Great pics.

I also love all of her funny expressions, too. She looks so funny in all the pics. I especially love the bottom left picture of her sticking her tongue out to the side. What a silly girl!!! Sherbet was really gorgeous, too. I love her orange markings over her eyes.

Sherbet was indeed very thorough with her grooming – I always found it so funny to watch especially when it looked like she was yoga stretches and even sometimes she would get so relaxed that she would start to fall asleep when she was washing herself then once she realised she was asleep she would quickly wake back up and resume her grooming – it was so cute! Sherbet did have such a huge personality and was always so expressive in her expressions – she always managed to put a huge smile on my face!

Flowerfairy – yes I have posted about Honey and Caramel before as well as my past girls on a thread I dedicated to them early this year.

Dreamtree1234 – I to also really like her orange markings around her eyes – I had always wanted a hamster who had patches around their eyes so when I saw Sherbet I knew it was meant to be! I also loved that she had one tiny orange spot midway down her back and then had a series of spots just above her tail.

14th - Sherbet – Playtime!

Out of all my girls, Sherbet loved playtimes the most and she used to demand 2 playtimes a day along with her cuddle/snuggle time on the sofa every evening. And if I missed getting her out for a playtime she always let me know that she wasn’t happy – often by bar chewing or banging her toys against the edge of her cage.

Sherbet had a really big playpen, which was completely safe for her to run around and have fun – in that playpen she even had a cardboard box playarea made up of cardboard boxes and parts of a hamster climbing toys – (bottom left photo).

Sherbet had didn’t have much interest in toys during her playtimes – instead she liked me to sit in her playpen with her where she would spend most her playtime climbing all over me and climbing up to sit on my shoulder – which did become a bit of a game as soon as I put her back onto the floor within a few seconds she was up on my shoulder again. She had so much fun during her playtimes.

During Sherbet’s playtime I would often try to attempt photoshoots which most didn’t work out to well as Sherbet would be to energetic to sit still long enough but with a bribe of some yummy treats Sherbet would be happy to co-operate until she either finished eating her treats or pouch them. This photo was from one of her successful photoshoots of Sherbet enjoying her birthday cake on her 2nd birthday …

Sherbet was so, SO cute. I love each and every one of her adorable pics. I love how each one captures something truly magical and special about her personality. Great photos as always, SKB. Her playtime sounds so lovely, and I think it is truly heartwarming that she preferred being on your shoulder than playing with her toys. Two playtimes plus extra cuddles time daily sounds magnificent. Your bond with her was so great and full of tons of trust and love. Her bottom picture with her eating her 2nd birthday cake is truly adorable. What kind of cake was it? It looks like she truly loved it. The decorated bench and tiny popsicles make the perfect props for such a special and memorable photo.
