Re: 31 days of August
That is very interesting, I had no idea that you could do things like that You do have a very lovely garden though (I seen it on you tube as it can on after one of your hamster videos ) so I'm sure they would have had a nice time fluttering around

I've been to one of those butterfly house places too Lizzy, it is a bit strange, wonderful but still strange lol! but I don't think butterflies fall off things!

Glad you enjoyed the vids of baby Flynt

Thanks BP, more from the garden today

Re: 31 days of August
Thanks Coco, I guess it does take a fair bit of patience but I could happily wait all day for a beautiful butterfly to oblige lol!

Re: 31 days of August
2 days of catching up such bliss.
So relieved you thought the butterfly place was strange but, so colourful with them all over. I do love the pics from yesterday, such detail.
Love all the sandbath pics but that 3rd pic made me smile. Little beauties!

Re: 31 days of August
Oh my gosh Cypher! I think I must have had the same Butterfly raising kit when I was a kid. We had caterpillars which grew up into painted lady butterflies. While we were waiting for them to all hatch out befire releasing them, we put some sugar water in a little dish in with them. Unfortunately, one of the butterflies fell into the sugar water and damaged her wing. She couldn't fly after that. I couldn't release her with the others to die, so I kept her. I called her "Wingy" and it was amazing how tame she actually was. She would crawl up onto my hands voluntarily and I'd feed her sugar water from a teaspoon. She used to ask for it by tapping her foot on my finger. I got so attached to her as she lived quite a few weeks which is a long time for a painted lady (according to the internet).
You must think I'm mad
Adorable pictures of all the sand bathing action! I find watching them dig and roll around really funny.

Re: 31 days of August
AP that is a sweet story about Wingy, how kind that you looked after her
Stunning pictures of the butterflies Cypher, they are truly beautiful. I didn't even realise they had stripy antenna, or at least it looks like it from the pics anyway
Lovely seeing the hams in their sand too, I love watching them have a good dig around though I could do without them throwing it everywhere

Re: 31 days of August
It been so lovely to meet the handsome Flynt – he coat does look so soft and cuddly as well as such a gorgeous colour. It was nice to hear how overcome his nerves and became such a cuddly hamster. Wonderful photos and videos of him – I especially love the photos of him sitting in his bowl as well as him eating his blueberry!
Love all photos of the butterflies. It was so fascinating reading about how you reared some painted lady butterflies and released them. I really love butterflies – although I always struggled to get a photo of one as they decide to fly of as soon as I’ve got my camera to focus!
Wonderful sand bath photos to – they all look to be having a lot of fun playing/rolling in the sand!
