Your guinea pigs are gorgeous. Lucky things having all that space to run about in! Mine are indoors only, keep meaning to introduce them to an outdoor run. Not got round to it yet.

Thanks They only get to roam free very occasionally if I'm supervising them but they have a run attached to their hutch that they have access to in the day.

Re: 31 Days of July
Today I'm posting some pictures of the wildlife I volunteer with. I'll be there tomorrow so will try to get more pictures (Possibly of baby hedgehogs if there is any!) but for now I have some older ones. The first photo is a young hedgehog, he's not as young as the ones we tend to get in at this time of year but he's cute anyway! The next photo is of an owl we had in recently, we get people bringing them in every once in a while. Then there are the herring gulls we had in a few weeks ago, they were absolutely adorable before they grew! I also have a picture of a baby hedgehog from a couple of weeks ago, they're the cutest things And finally I have an old picture of Wonky because why not

Such lovely pics, I so love hedgehogs. The owls so beautiful to look at and the same goes for horses.

Re: 31 Days of July
Just catching up - a lovely thread so far Amber. The horses all look adorable - particularly Bobby I think, who looks so sweet (clearly hiding a cheeky grumpy side!). Noodles looked lovely - very sad and clearly she was not born healthy.
Amber and Noodles are both lovely and the HH looks like a fun set up for her. I like the grass hammocks – they really can add to enrichment – unfortunately I was allergic to them!
The guinea pigs look sweet – especially the pic where it looks like one is following the other
Love the riding photos. I only had one riding lesson aged 8 which was free as our neighbour ran a stables – they put me on an enormous horse! The saddle was so slippery I slid right off as the horse started walking and ended up hanging by the stirrup. I was laughing but it put me off. Years later we stayed in a caravan on a horse farm for a holiday run by an ex mounted policeman and were allowed free riding all week – we just rode bareback round the fields and I took to that – so would only ever go on a horse bareback! I am also a little scared of them (if you don’t know the horse).
The wildlife photos are great – what a wonderful thing to do. Wonky looks happy on that photo

Re: 31 Days of July
Thanks Serendipity - I can understand why you'd be nervous of riding, I had a lot of trouble with confidence a couple of years ago at another yard which is why I moved. I was in lessons that were too advanced for me at the time so I wasn't comfortable at all. I've gained a lot of it back at my new stables, they're much better at understanding if you're nervous or don't want to do something because you're not comfortable with it.
As promised I have some more pictures of the baby hedgehogs! I love the babies as when they're very young their spikes haven't fully hardened so you can pick them up without gloves on, and of course they're extra cute Handling them is always a nice break from cleaning cages We also have a lot of baby birds in at this time of year, including some really tiny ones. We get all sorts of different birds including squabs (baby pigeons), starlings, sparrows and blackbirds, and they all have different reasons for being in. It's very sad when an animal doesn't make it but I'm constantly reminded of why I help out there when I see baby animals growing up or injured animals healing.

Just catching up- love all the pics of the wildlife. I especially love little Wonky's face! I never thought that baby hedgehogs could be so darn adorable! I love just how small and delicate they look
