Re: 31 days of May
Had some trouble getting onto the HC page this morning. All fine now though.
Today I am going to talk about Fairy and her sister Flower (rip).
They are the roborovski sisters that Peter Logsdail collected from a show for me.
I had been watching endless youtube about roborovskis and was VERY keen to meet my new girl. When we got there they had two roborovskis and were intending to keep one. I fell for both of them and they were happy to pick another up for themselves at the next show they were attending.
Flower and Fairy spent their first day burrowing in the fitch substrate and playing on their karlie wooden wheel, both at the same time! It soon became clear that Flower was not coming out and about so much and that Fairy was the dominant hamster.
I decided to separate them and Flower immediately relaxed and would spend ages just sitting on her wheel washing or just staring into space.
Fairy was a bit quiet for a day or so but quickly made herself some lovely tunnels and made full use of her sand bath.
Flower passed away recently but Fairy is going strong and loves to dig in her tiny carrot cottage!
You can see pics of them here;
Flower and Fairy are still so nervous

Re: 31 days of May
Catching up with this thread!
I'm really enjoying it. Your brief introduction was very interesting. I didn't know about the existence of "Parslows hamster farm" and obviously I didn't know it was so famous.
Gopal looks like a cool dude in his photos.
I already knew a little bit about Fairy and Flower but it was nice to hear about how you got them too.

Re: 31 days of May
I enjoyed hearing about Flower and Fairy and they look so precious in the pictures. I have to confess I didn't know anything about them before! I'm sorry to hear that Flower has gone to rainbow bridge, but it's great that Fairy is still with you. I think robos are adorable and I've often wondered about getting one myself, but I have Mushu now and one hamster at a time is enough for me.

Flower and fairy sound adorable! Sorry to hear Flower has passed on I have absolutely fallen in love with robos as of recently. They're just so cute (hence why I wound up with a little one in my home after promising no more hamsters for a while ) Excited to meet your whole hamily!

Re: 31 days of May
Right today is the turn of my little golden angel, Arun.
I decided to go into our local pet shop and visit a sweet little smooth haired female syrian that I had fallen for. I didnt want to get a girl in case she unsettled my boys. I mentioned this to the lady in the shop who told me that they had a new litter of boys.
I knew that I mustnt look but ... of course I just had to see them. One was a silvery grey with red eyes, very fluffy. Two were orange/brown with smooth fur and one was cream with black eyes and lots of fluff. I have always had a soft spot for a black eyed cream since I had Horace (first ever hamster). I was in love.
So I reserved the fluffy cream boy and went back a few hours later to collect him.
Here he is in his playbox (that the barney cage came in) inspecting his little transport box which takes him from cage to play box and back again.
His mamble cage (before he moved to the borneo xl that he has now);
Sitting on his mamble shelf
Climbing up his playbox
Inspecting his tunnel
Having a wash
His current cage set up (he was in bed)
He is so beautiful and whenever I say "who wants to go into his play box" he rushes to his door and gazes at me. I open the door, offer his transport box and he literally jumps into it!
His thread is here
Ahem new hamster .. Welcome Arun

Re: 31 days of May
I love Arun! He is like a fluffy version of one of my brother's old hamsters.
