I'd double check the sex of Wasabi. How far apart are the two vents underneath. I've never see a female with that length of top coat in all my judging experience so I've had a lot of long haired hammies through my hands!
If it is indeed a female her hormones may be out of sync though as this can make the fur grow too long.
