Your new hamster room is AMAZING. So, are there more than 30 hamsters in that room? WOW. Hamster heaven

Re: 30 Days of April
I have a schedule which helps with the hammies It's going to get more cosy in the hamster room by the end of the month - you'll hear all about it after Easter!
Today I had a day off and I went to visit a hamster friend. I had transported a group of Campbells from another friend, and she was taking the father. I got to look round her new hamster shed which was lovely and made me jealous! She took dad and one son so the other two lads came back with me. Their sister is mum to my Campbell litter.

I thought I'd show you some more of my Cambells and hybrids today. In the living room I have a little herd of male Campbell/hybrids. There were six but one had diabetes and died very quickly so there are only five now. Secundus was feeling camera shy, but here are Cicero, Primus Quartus and Quintus:

Cicero is grandad to the Campbell litter and is an old man-ham now (he's not a hybrid).

In the living room also lives Ophelia, a diabetic rescue hybrid who has been prone to respiratory and urinary/uterine infections. She was free to good home on the freeads and was described as smelly and bitey. She isn't a fan of being handled but loves her wheel and chewing her cage bars!

In the hamster room I have the Campbell litter and their mum Teri, dad Caesar (Cicero's son), Clodia and Tillia (Caesar's mum and sister) and the two lads in the first picture. These are my pure Campbells for showing but I didn't have time to take photos of them too today.
This afternoon a certain someone had his hydrotherapy session on the underwater treadmill. He's sleeping well after doing his 9 miles.

Re: 30 Days of April
Ophelia looks really healthy and well despite her health problems
Your little herd of Campbell/hybrids fascinates me, they look so lovely and I'd love to hear some tips on how you keep them living together happily
Well done Rogue that's a lot of exercise! I'm tired just thinking about running 9 miles with my legs in the water lol.

Re: 30 Days of April
I've been given a scratchy throat and the snuffles so hands-off pictures today. My brain's full of cotton-wool - I'm not ignoring your questions Hamsterita and BorisPasha; I'll answer them when my brain's working again!
It's the turn today of some of my retired Syrians.
The oldest hammy in the hamster room is currently Gallica. She's nearly two and a half and has started to look very frail recently. She's spending more time napping in her nest but still will beg for treats.

Her son is Tiny Tim. He's coming up for 2 himself. He's a nosey little lad. It was a surprise to see him toddle out of the nest at nearly 2 weeks old - I'd put Gallica in quarantine as I thought she may be brewing a pyometra. She had one episode of blood on her vent and had what looked to be an open empty nest right on view. She bounced around the cage begging for extra treats the whole time which also made me think she wasn't looking after pups. Two small pups wandered around the cage at the eyes shut stage, but by the time eyes were open only Tiny Tim remained. He has always been a small lad despite getting lots of extras.

Valegra is the only cream hamster I've ever owned (I'm not a fan of creams. They just don't appeal to me). She's a sweetie though and gave me a lovely litter of pups who carry both dark grey and cream for my future plans. Two of her pups are off to their new homes in Europe soon.

Delphic is my smooshy floofy ghost yellow lad. He's always keen to supervise in case treats are on offer!

His son is Olympic, a dark grey who carries cream. His wife-to-be is Valegra's daughter and I'm hoping they give me at least one dark grey ivory. He's inherited his dad's 'nobody ever feeds me' face!

Olympic is just so sweet, how could anyone resist a face like that lol!
Gallica looks so adorable curled up there too.
Lovely to hear about more of your hams.

Re: 30 Days of April
WOW! I'm in love with all your furries! Olympic is such a cutie.
Gallica may be getting old but, she looks so content and cosy in that pic.
As for Rogue, 9 miles on the underwater treadmill puts me to shame lol! I hope he got a tasty reward afterwards.
