Tiddlyfluff (aka Murf) came to me from work at 3 weeks old when I was asked to take him home and look after him as he was from an accidental litter and was a third of the size he should have been and being badly bullied. He was absolutely tiny and had obviously missed out on a lot of nutrition when he was a (teenier) tot. I fed him with lactol with syringe every 3 hours for the first few days, then less regularly and gave him baby food and lots of good protein foods (he still gets them quite regularly as he's still a wee bit small for his age)
Of course, I fell in love with him... who wouldn't? Plus I'd always wanted a dove (and a satin)
Surprisingly my Mum let my keep him
Here he is when I got him:
Over the weeks:
And now (well when he was 8/9 weeks, he's 10 weeks old this weekend)
Halloumi came to me in June when I boarded Rio at a rattery while I went away on holiday with my friends. (Oscar stayed at home with my mum because he is elderly (will be 28 months this month) and I didn't want to stress him out.)
I was offered Halloumi by the lady who runs the rattery as he had been passed around quite a bit. Apparently he'd been with someone, they decided they didn't want him so gave him to someone else who didn't want to keep him because they already had a hamster and that's how he ended up in the rattery, then to me! So I'm his 4th owner and he's here to stay. I do consider him as a "rescue"
I'm not sure how old he is, I'd say about a year now.
He was apparently "nippy" but he never bit me. He was very nervous at first but with frequent, gentle, confident handling, he's really come out of his shell
While I'm at it, I might as well post pictures of my other fluffs too!
So here's Oscar my wee old man. He's a normal campbells, turned silver due to carrying black.
Rio - he's sooo not photogenic! Looks much nicer "in the flesh". He's the daddy to Pacha's litter.
And of course Pacha (when she was preggers)
And my non-hamster - Buddy
Sorry for so many!!
