Default Any water bottles that dont leak? or tips for leaking water bottles?

Hi!

I recently figured out that my water bottle was leaking, and his cage was quite soggy and wet. I tried to stop my water botttle from leaking, but nothing worked. I would like to see if any of you guys know any water bottles that are not known to leak, or any tips. Thank you!

This is a very good water bottle that I use for my gerbils. It's made of very tough plastic so it's unlikely to be chewed and barely leaks at all. I wouldn't recommend using the holder though, instead suction cup it or use Velcro

Its a hit or miss with me in the states. The water bottles aren't made very well. Its a an ordeal trying to find bottles that work.

I don't think there are any bottles that are entirely leak free Bottles will leak at least a tiny bit no matter what.

Water bowls can be good too,and are definitely worth trying out as long as you make sure the bowl is completely safe. There should be no holes where toes can get trapped(I've seen this in at least one reptile bowl off Amazon),and it should be very shallow.Preferably,an inch or less deep, but definitely no deeper than 1.5 inches.

Reptile bowls can work perfectly fine as a water bowl, either along with or instead of a bottle.Bowls often get the misrepresentation of being difficult to maintain, but considering the extra steps it takes and even to an extent spending a bit on special equipment for water bottle cleaning I'd have to say that bowls are actually easier. It comes down to personal preference, but do keep an open mind when it comes to bowls!

I've had the bowl linked previously for another pet,and it would definitely be the perfect size for a hamster water bowl

I am using living world glass water bottle. Amd I love it, it is a little bit bigger bottle, even smallest (if I remember correct 133ml). It does leak few drops of water when you change the water, but after that I haven't sen it leaking.

And since it's made of glass it is chew proof and Daisy is not able to climb on it, even she's trying a lot

I had loads of problems with water bottles. I settled on the Ferplast drinky mouse sized ones (not the "sippy", the "drinky") Spout is a bit thicker - never seemed to drip (hardly) and seemed to let water out really well. They're my favourite ones. I'm guessing you're in the US. I couldn't find the 75ml mouse sized one on Amazon.com but I did find the 150ml one on ebay - not sure what the postage would be!

I personally am not keen on the idea of a water dish - and it can depend on the hamster as well - ours wouldn't use a water dish. They can get contaminated easily with bedding or the hamster can fall in and get wet. It would need to be very shallow water and maybe on a shelf. I'd stick with bottles and keep a dish as an emergency option.

This 75ml one is also popular in the Uk - can be got on Amazon.com. I used to use one in a bottle stand. They were mostly ok and rarely dripped but I did find they didn't last very long before they had issues with letting water out - so I used to keep two in the cage, just in case.
