Home for christmas
We are going home to my family for christmas with both our hamsters. this will involve a lot of time out in the cold. I would a second opinion on our plan for the trip.
we have 2 snuggle safe heatpads that we are planning on placing in the bottom of 2 wide linen bags, their respective travelcages will then go on top of that, and lining the side will be however many blanckets we can fit in. lastly, and the point i really need some advice on, we have some light and very breathable scarfs, that I usually use to breathe through to keep my face warm in the cold. can we put those over the cages, so they're completely covered and shielded from any wind?

Re: Home for christmas
I'd be a bit wary of covering the cages tbh, if the bags are deep enough to shelter them they may be better without & do b careful about how hot the pads are, fully heated directly under the cage would be too hot, covering the pad with a folded blanket can help.
