Escapee!
My grandads just found a hamster wandering about in the grass while walking his dog! I havent seen it as they live a way away but he said its very similar in colouring to my Pickles, golden banded, very thin and wet as it rained last night, but he's brought it up and he's got it in shoe box with shredded toilet roll, and he's gone into town to get a cage of some sorts. Ive told him to make some flyers as some kid somewhere might be without his hamster, but my grandad said judging by the look of him he's been out quite a while. I've obviously volouteered to take him!

Re: Escapee!
ok, apparently he's in his new cage and is just exploring. My grandad has picked him up to put him in and he didnt bite, and he seems quite active and alert. If no-one claims him, im taking him. Im trying not to get too excited because of what is most likely to happen to him if he's been out wet and cold all night or longer.... xxx

Re: Escapee!
We've established she's a she and providing nobody responds to the flyers, she's coming to me early next week She's very active and alert, eating drinking and has been handled briefly with no biting. I've named her Judy haha and im very excited to have a rescue hammy! My grandad said she just trunded past him on the grass very slowly and calmly. But my grandma said her cat was going mad that morning outside and now thinking about it she was probably after the hamster if she was round and about then. Don't like to think what could have happened :S x
