Smile I got some $$what to spend on ??

Hello hamster lovers!!!!!!!!!!
So recently it was my birthday and got a total of 350$$
200in cash from reletives and 50$ petsmart gift card and 100Amazon gift card
My Syrian hamster peanut has everything she needs but of corse I want to spoil her !
So do u have any suggestions on what to get her ??
I have a few things in my Amazon cart already ( some hamster toys extra bedding and such
I also have a sungle safe heater that I really want ) but that's only in Amazon
So I have more money to spend on peanut
I don't need anything for myself
Let me hear your suggestions
Thanks again hamster lovers !!!

From the Petsmart gift card, you could definitely get a variety of toys! There is a pack of toys by National Geographic which give you 6 different toys, but some would be better as toy parts. This is one example though, there are tons of different options but overall I'd suggest first to look at different toys from Petsmart or perhaps a spare carrier or something very useful.

Treats could work too,but be careful which ones you get as some aren't very safe and others are very unhealthy!Just think about what can be useful to you but also beneficial for your hamster

They're not toxic for the most part, but they aren't very healthy and should not be given often if at all as hamsters and other small pets should not really have dairy as it isn't something they digest properly.

Just because it is a healthy treat doesn't mean it has to be expensive by the way!Millet is an example of a very healthy treat, but it isn't expensive at all though not all Syrians will like it.You can get a pack for $2 at Petco though if you're unsure,or just get a cheap but natural pack of millet if you're unsure if you cannot get it from Petco I've even found millet in Walmart but that was a huge pack which would only be appropriate for people with several pets as it was just so much millet!

Be careful with ingredients though,as a lot of ingredients are unsafe if not potentially toxic. An example of this would be Vitakraft and National Geographic, which include mountain ash berry(also known as rowan berry)in a lot of their products and this berry is potentially toxic. That isn't to say Vitakraft or National Geographic is 100% bad though,as there are exceptions to that!

From the small animal section of treats:
Oxbow Simple Rewards Small Animal Treats | Treats | PetSmart
Oxbow BeneTerra Organic Barley Biscuits | Treats | PetSmart
Oxbow Simple Rewards Small Animal Treats | Treats | PetSmart
Vitakraft® Nibble Rings Small Animal Treats | Treats | PetSmart
Tropical Carnival Greens to Go | Treats | PetSmart
http://www.petsmart.com/small-pet/tr...ar_id=36-21596 These are fine but only a few nibbles on rare occasions!

While there isn't much from the small animal section, there is always the rest of the store!

Where have you been reading about toxicity of rowan Amity?
It's something I've always believed to be safe for hams.

It's just a very risky food to feed as it was difficult to find any source that could accurately say they're safe or not.I personally would never take that chance as there are so many more foods that are definitely safe!

Hmmm still not sure where you're coming from with this sorry, I've fed them, only as an occasional addition to their treat mix with no problem & Rodipet (among others) sell them for hamsters, sources I generally trust.

While the berries themselves I would consider possibly safe in small amounts very infrequently, the National Geographic treats at the very least often contain other unsafe things. The guinea pig forage they contain which sounds like a wonderful idea contains leek and mountain ash berry,so that definitely isn't safe.

Depending on personal opinion of bay leaf, their chinchilla forage however isn't bad!

For Vitakraft products I generally check on the actual website as well just to be safe,as sometimes Petsmart and such can get the ingredients wrong so it doesn't hurt to check instead of relying just on Petsmart or Petco or any website for that matter.

In fact, there are plenty products you don't usually see on a lot of pet store websites by Vitakraft that are very nice like the red beet drops which are very similar in appearance to the yogurt drops but don't contain yogurt. This is just one example though, and there are plenty amazing and honestly mind blowing products that Vitakraft make.

I like the idea of a pet carrier in case you ever need to travel, clean cage, go to the vet, etc. I'd save some of that money as a vet fund for your hamster. I wouldn't spend all of the money. I'd save as much as possible. Not just spend your money just because you have some, if that makes any sense.
