Can I leave him?
Usually if I go away for the night I feed Sweep before I go. If I stay away any extra nights I come back for a little bit to feed him. But in October I am house sitting and it's not near enough for me to come back so can I feed him on the Saturday morning before I leave and then leave him until the Monday afternoon when I get back? Obviously I'd give him extra but am not sure if this is OK? It's 2 nights ...

Re: Can I leave him?
If you're really stuck & can't get back to him or have anyone look in on him two nights should be ok, that's about the longest I would think about leaving a ham.
As long as he has plenty of food & maybe two water bottles in case one stops working & double check everything in his cage is totally safe, nothing that could fall over & possibly hurt him or anything he should be fine.

Re: Can I leave him?
I've left mine for two nights, reluctantly of course! I would never leave them longer though as I worry so much, especially that they would just be so bored! I used to get loads of toilet roll toys made up for her to chew and hang things from the cage just so there was plenty to be occupied with. I'm sure she probably destroyed them all in the first five minutes and then was bored the rest of the time but hey ho!

Re: Can I leave him?
I hate the thought of leaving him ... I've been debating about telling my friends I won't house sit just so I don't have to leave him! He'll probably like the peace and quiet anyway!

Re: Can I leave him?
I'm sure he'll be fine, just be sure to include an extra water bottle so he has 2.
Plenty of fresh foods and treats will help too.

Re: Can I leave him?
I will escape my human and join the party then ! As Sweep may know, when my human was on holiday and I was being looked after by my human's parent, she left the cage open ALL night and I did not try and escape once. I am a good hamster .
I think 2 nights would be ok - as long as it's not any longer. Is there no one who could possibly check on him?
A walnut may be necessary as compensation for Sweep and just make sure everything is very secure. 2 waterbottles are a good idea - just in case. Like you said extra food as well.
