Those Little Quirks
The most enjoyable aspect I find of Winnie are the little quirks. Such as the way she insists on stretching halfway in her sand tray after a nap. And how some days, she enjoys sitting with me during her free playtime, yet other times she's so curious and ready to explore the world! Or how she matter-of-fact walks around with a shelled peanut sticking out of her face (that's right, face, not mouth 😉 after discovering one hidden.
Tell me about your hammie(s), all the little things you love about them. I really look forward to hearing how they bring joy to you. ☺️

Re: Those Little Quirks
That is very cute!
My favourite quirk about Honeyfur is the way he bathes himself in sand, rolling around and grooming himself.
And my favourite quirk about Bubblesky is how she desperately tries to sit in her food bowl, even though it is far too small for her rather large rear end!

Oh they sound adorable! Do you have pictures of them?
Bubblesky's quirk made me laugh - I imagine it's quite a feat! What type of hamster is Honeyfur? He sounds like a clean little chap

Why thank you! There are photos on Bubblesky's World and Honeyfur's World, you will find those threads if you look on my profile!
Honeyfur is a roborovski and he is super clean!

Re: Those Little Quirks
Thanks for guiding me there, I was struggling
They are both gorgeous! I read Bubblesky was a rescue, did you find you were able to bond quickly with her? Winnie was purchased at Pets at Home but I found it's difficult to tell personalities, and the employees haven't paid attention to personality, so was curious about rescues.
Winnie is a Syrian, and partially a mop

No worries!
Thank you! Both were rescues - Bubblesky was very very easy to bond with and took to me straight away! Honeyfur on the other hand has been impossible for me to really bond with, as I was very ill when I first adopted her and had to go into hospital for a long time so we've never really caught up on taming!
How long have you had Winnie?

Re: Those Little Quirks
My dwarf Jareth likes to stand up on his back legs and frantically paw the cage whenever he sees me in the room. I'd like to think it's cause he loves me, but really he just loves the idea of treats :P

That's awesome! They both sound wonderful! Winnie really enjoys her free time - most days she's absolutely comfortable with me but other nights she definitely takes some cooing to before she'll come out. At first it worried me and made me feel I was doing something wrong
I've had Winnie for two months now - as a child I owned pets, hamsters included, but it's so great to own a hamster now because a) I know how to properly care for a hamster, (b) spoiling her is financially easy, and (c) she brings so much joy to my world
Sorry about you being ill, hope everything is alright! It's no fun in hospital, ever.

Jareth is a fantastic name! And I'm sure it's a mix of the two
