Baileys eye, one is slightly darker than the other.
Hi, I have always been concerned about Baileys eyesight but recently I've noticed that one eye is changing and slightly darker that the other one. He has Ruby eyes and even though I'm aware that Hammys eyes are not the best I do see Bailey relying more on feeling his way with his whiskers and he is more nervous that my previous Hams. i was wondering if I am right to be concerned about Bailey?
Many Thanks
LL

Re: Baileys eye, one is slightly darker than the other.
I wouldn't worry too much LL as long as the eyes look healthy and are not swollen or discharging. It is quite normal for some hamsters with a pattern to have odd eye colours. It can be quite extreme with one very pink and one very dark in some cases and is due to the combination of the pattern and the straight colour and often the way the pattern is distributed on the hamster.

Hi thank you Soufflé, his eyes both look very healthy and bright I and in general he is a happy Hammy.
