Holiday Arrangements
I go away in a few weeks for 10 days and I have some work collegues sharing the responsibility of looking after my beloved female hamster (they both wanted to have her and they decided to share!)
she will be 17 months when i go away and the 2nd lady that is having her has 2 children (8-10 years) who already have a female hamster of the same age...
I am rather nervous that these children will try to 'make friends' with the 2 hamsters behind their mothers back...
Will they fight?? - my hamster has had several upset stomach's in her time and i am just a little nervous that this might stress her out!
Am I being over protective? Any advice?
Thank you
Keira

Re: Holiday Arrangements
If I were you Keira I would ask only one of them to have her as the moving could be stressful. Why not mention to the one with a hamster already that she has a tummy upsets in the past and you have been advised that she should not go near another hammy just in case she might have something that could be passed on?
Change of house twice and smelling a new hammy may make her stressed. I'd stick to one if I were you.

Re: Holiday Arrangements
Definately stick to one. You don't want her stressed out, it could even give her wet tail. I would choose the one without the other hamster as you're right, the kids might put them together and they will fight to the death or at least cause nasty injuries.

Re: Holiday Arrangements
I have decided to go with someone completley different as the other one without the hamster was going away half way though my holiday - dont i like to complicate things!!
Many thanks for the advice - you made up my mind!!
