new hamster
Hey i just got a new hamster after years of having them. Ive named him Malcom hes only 10 weeks old. I left him in his new cage for 24 hours to settle in. Ive been getting him out but he dosent seem happy being held or sat on my knee hes like rushing around pooing constantly while being held and hes bit me tonight. Ive had ones usually that settle quick is it just a grumpy one or will he settle evebtually. I hope so

Re: new hamster
Congrats on Malcom and welcome to HC you will be able to learn lots of good things here to have your hammie have a good life.
You are going to fast for your hammie. It's recommended to leave your hamster alone completely for one week. I leave mine alone for 2 weeks. This way they will feel secure in their new home and will make for a more confident pet.
Let Malcom lead you on how fast taming goes. You can't force or rush the hammie to be tame as that just sets things back. In time you will grow close with him and bond with him naturally as you get to know each other.
Edit: I see you have had several hammies...
each one is different, you should be fine with time
