Default The worst luck imaginable.

So some of you guys who have been reading my threads probably know about Sirius, the little dwarf whose spent the last two months at the vet, and no surprise, vet day came, and went and he still can't come home.

I'm not even angry at this point, though the shop feels terrible.

Then Eve who was supposed to be coming home yesterday got attacked earlier in the week. She's fine, but again another two week wait.

So here's what I would love to hear from all of you. Stories about when you had to be patient waiting for something, or even stories about some issues you may have had with your own hamsters.

Oh I am sorry. Such a shame - and you have been going to see Sirius all this time too.

Hmm stories when I've been patiently waiting for something. I am known for my patience, but sometimes I have waited patiently for something, which feels like I waited too long. But in the end I knew I did the right thing because something would resolve itself by my waiting. But other times I wished I had taken the bull by the horns and insisted on something quicker.

For example I am still waiting to win the lottery Patiently!

Seriously though, as they say, all good things come to those who wait. But there is waiting when you have no choice, and waiting when you could do something about a situation to speed it up. It doesn't sound like you can do anything to speed your situation up.

If I can remember any instances I'll post again on your thread

It reminds me of the story from the Odyssey though, of Penelope doing her tapestry every day and undoing it every night, waiting for her husband Odysseus to come home. She had told her suitors that she would marry one of them when the tapestry was finished, so she unpicked it every night, waiting for Odysseus to come home. And Odysseus spent YEARS having lots of adventures - very selfish!

Well here's hoping they aren't having adventures that are too wild. Thanks Serendipity that helps me feel better. Sort of an unintended side effect I think I may wind up taking More hamsters home when I go pick up Eve, depending on what this paycheck looks like. and if I can figure out a way to fit more of those 50 gallon bins into the picture.
