Good boy!
So for me this is something very exciting, and I had to share it, though I know most of you will probably think I',m mad to post it ... BUT, I just let Sweep have a quick play in his play box as he was awake. Annnnnd ... I noticed him start looking for some of the scattered food and then he POUCHED IT! Now he's been returned to his cage I can hear him munching away!! It's the first time I've seen him pouch anything, as normally he sits there to eat! I am so proud of him!
Oh, and also ... He let me hold him for a couple of seconds! I took him from the cage to the box in his ball, and then i took him out of the ball and held him before he went into the box, but he jumped down! But it is a lot better than he's done before though he was still jumpy!

Re: Good boy!
Sweep is definitely a good boy. That's good that he realised what to do with his cheek pouches. Also that he is getting more confident with being held and is becoming less jumpy, soon he will be climbing onto your hand constantly and you won't be able to get him off.

Re: Good boy!
Well done Sweep on pouching your food and being held. Hands aren't as scary as they seem.

Re: Good boy!
When I put him back into the cage I put my hand by the ball opening and he climbed out and over my hand before he jumped! Usually he won't come out if my hand is there!

Re: Good boy!
As he has gone from the ball over your hand you may want to try getting him to go on your hand then into the ball. The more practice he gets the better he will become. Obviously don't overdo it though.

Re: Good boy!
Yeah will try that. Will give him a go later when he gets back up but that may take more time than him going over it to get out!

Re: Good boy!
Sounds like Sweep's more trusting and knows you're a nice person. Good he's stuffing his pouches.
Sounds like you've bonded with him, great progress.

Re: Good boy!
Its so exciting when these wonderful events occur. Well done Sweepy, you are growing up. Pouching food and braving the hand. Excellent.

Re: Good boy!
He was a very brave boy tonight too! Put the ball (without lid) on the bed whilst he was in it and just sat there. He seemed a little nervous but eventually came out, ran along my leg and then back to his ball!
