Re: Impressed!
Yes but it's totally free and a lot less hassle. No need to pay via PayPal etc.

Re: Impressed!
Gumtree is an advertising website or app where you buy and sell things. You can may get some money for Sweeps old (new looking) cage. Be sure to say how long it was used for and how new it looks in the advert. If you do use gumtree. Check the terms and conditions as you may have to pay to advertise. Some places take a percentage of the sales price after the sale. Just so you know.

Re: Impressed!
I'm not sure gumtree charge a single penny unlike eBay CMB. Perhaps it's changed since I last used it. But he's the t&c's should be read anyway

Re: Impressed!
I don't know if gumtree charges. I just thought it wise if pink neon checked first.

Re: Impressed!
If only everybody was willing to learn about suitable cage sizes and upgraded their hamsters from jail cells. Ahhh what a perfect world that would be! Good on you, PinkNeon Gumtree only charge you if you want to bump up your add or mark it as urgent.

Re: Impressed!
I've found ebay very good for selling things locally. If you select 'collection only' then you don't need to worry about postage and postage costs. They do charge a percentage, but pricing is tricky. Generally going for an auction starting at 99p gives a better final price, but with something that is only being sold locally you aren't going to get many bidders, so a fixed price is better. But you can put a fixed price with an option for 'offers' so rather than be put off by a fixed price, a buyer can make an offer. You only get charged the seller's fee if it actually sells.
The cage is basically brand new - so don't forget to put that in any listing - that it was new x weeks ago and only been used for x weeks - condition is important on ebay and you can put 'as new condition' or if there is the odd mark, say so, or put 'excellent nearly new condition'. Say how much they cost new and that it is a bargain and ideal for any size or species of hamster. You can also say the advantages in your main piece - easy to see the hamster, a deep base for bedding, narrow bar spacing on top, and so on. The more information you give, the better. Buyers like a bit of a personal touch as well, so you can say that you got this for your Syrian but are upgrading him to something bigger and that is the reason for sale and not because a hamster has died in it. Good photos are important too.
Or you could advertise it on here
