Heya ,

I would like to introduce my new sweet hamster , she is a winter white and 2 months old

I haven't decided about her name yet .
It is her third day today in a new cage .She eats from my hand but doesn't trust me completely to let me to hold her.She seems to be friendly and she is very active especially at 4 o'clock at night !( she woke me up because she was running on the wheel and there was some food in it

) .She sleeps all day until late 12 - 1 am ,occasionally she wakes up in the evening just to grab some food .I think She may be shy or simply love sleeping long hours

This is her first picture, she loves a labyrinth and stays there all the time!
I will add some more pictures later on a day when she is awake !

Her mum has white fur and red eyes , dad on the other hand has black eyes. Her eyes are in between black and red, sometimes you can see more red than black ,depending on lightening

So far, I have been talking to her softly like to little baby

. I would love to be able to pick her up and play with her so she doesn't run away from me.
I have noticed one thing that she climbed on the bars behind her wheel , she went to the top then got trapped there. She struggled to go down , but she repeated it a couple of times again! Surprisingly , she has got a cage full of toys,hideouts but she doesn't go there at all ! (maybe at night but I don't think so ).I feel like I have to do something about it otherwise she would just hide behind her wheel and may hurt her self or stay in her house forever!
So when would be best time to make changes with a setup of her cage ? should I wait because its new environment for her ?Should I try not to play with her in the evenings too in the next couple of days ?

I wouldn't try play with her at all for at least a few days till she's made that place her home. Just change water, food and minimal spot cleaning while she settle's I think.

She's a real beaut

Aww she's gorgeous, congrats

Give her more time to settle in before you begin to worry about interacting much more or change anything, if you can just fit some cardboard through the bars behind her wheel, that should be enough to stop her climbing or hurting herself.

You are absolutely right , I just need to have more patience.I just wish I could speed up time

Last night I stayed awake until late hours and I found here running in her wheel and exploring all places in her cage

It was 12 oclock at night . I was so happy to see that she is settling in ! She dosen't like to use her coconut house or tubes , her favorite place is the labyrinth and wheel that is it

I tried to take some pictures but I only had a small light on therefore I couldn't see much ( didn't want to scare her ) The wheel looks huge comparing to her haha she was eating her food and found the corner to be a perfect place to do it so

Initially , she used her corner potty in the labyrinth as a toilet but since I added some sand , she would only use it for bathing.She turned toilet corner to her sand bath haha.
