Just count your self lucky you were blessed with her company buddy. She's a real beauty and her character shine's through on the photos.

That one in the cup is a lovely photo

Go make a memorial thread for Mrs Warboys and share her with us Nathan

Lovely photos, she looks so beautiful, content & happy, I think you were both really blessed to have your time together, all those wonderful memories will always be there to warm your heart long after the pain has eased, I know what you mean about feeling her still there with you, I feel the same with mine, two in particular I really feel the presence & their spirit does live on in & around us, they never leave really.
What you've done for her with the rose, toys & treats sounds lovely too.

Thank you all again, she was indeed beautiful and very special.
Thanks Serendipity for the link, I have read it and it makes a lot of sense. Especially the part about beating yourself up thinking if there was anything I did wrong.
I know that is just a normal part of it all.
Rsclio - you are right, we had such a special time together and I am going to concentrate on that. I have just been out to a meeting and said hello to her in the garden when I came back - that gave me a lot of comfort - thank you for the advice.
Cypher, like you, I believe part of them always stays with us, there is such a special bond between us and our pets which is so strong it never completely disappears. xx

So very sad. My condolences Nathan on your untimely loss. It can feel soul destroying like a kick in the belly for days/weeks afterwards when this happens. I remember losing my first pet rat who was well over two years of age. I couldn`t eat for days and felt so down it was ridiculous. Having then kept gerbils and many pet mice, I got more used to the losses, but they were hard all the same. I`ve been very lucky that my last three dwarf hamsters have all lived long lives, so it`s even harder to deal with a younger animal dying when they had no cause for concern. Each day they are with us is special.

She will always be with you and you can take comfort when you sit outside with a cuppa and tell her your worries. Rest in peace cutie. x

Thank you racing hamster - that is such a lovely thought, to go and have a little chat with her. I would talk to her constantly through the day (I work from home and she was in my office). Sometimes she would poke her nose out and say hello, and probably tell me to shut up as she was trying to sleep!
I had a lovely pet rat (Mavis) about 13 years ago and when she went I was distraught, I still miss her now.
You are so right, each day is so precious, and the one thing I have no regrets about is we made the very most of each other, we were together all day every day and she came first above everything. So I think I did right by her.
So glad your dwarves are enjoying a long and happy life. We are so lucky to be able to love these little souls for the time they are with us. I am so grateful to have known my little baby. XX

Thank you Thin Lizzy - she was adorable.
Her name came from the 80s sitcom One Foot in the Grave which I loved - one of the characters was Mrs Warboys. So when I met (my) Mrs Warboys, she was so ladylike and cheeky and delicate that I thought it fitted so well. And she really suited it!
I have some more pictures of her - she loved radishes and broccoli!

RIP my darling xx

I've actually got the boxset of One foot In The Grave and you mentioning it makes me want to watch it again.
Once again such stunning pics. She really knew how to pose perfectly.
How are you feeling Nathan? It must be a comfort posting pics of Mrs Warboys here and being able to show her and talk about her.
