What might she be?
Ok. So, I finally decided to get a new Syrian after Scarlett's passing and I am wondering what her coloring and patterning is. She is a mix between a dark and light grey, has a white belly, black cheek flashes which go around the bottom of her neck making her look like she is wearing a collar, white eye rings, black patch on top of her head which extends to both of her ears, very light grey face and black eyes. I suspect she is banded but isn't very clear or she could just be a carrier of the white belly gene. My camera is broke which is why there is no photos of her. To make it easier to guess what she might be, she looks like a little short haired possum.

Re: What might she be?
Aww she sounds delightful. Hopefully Nancy or one of the other colour experts will be along along soon!

Re: What might she be?
Thanks, ff. She seems to be setting in just fine. Just wish I could think of a name

Re: What might she be?
Update: After some searching, I think she might be a dark grey or something along those lines.

Pets at Home. I always try to get hamsters from the adoption section but my mam doesn't let me which sucks because I am pretty much forced to either add to mills or leave without a hamster. The joys of very old fashioned parents! Ha

Re: What might she be?
If she's from Pets At Home, she's probably just "grey" rather than silver grey or dark grey -- the big rodent farms don't bother to keep their genes separate so she's likely to have both silver grey and dark grey genes. She does sound pretty though

Re: What might she be?
A picture would help a lot But she will be either silver or dark grey, by the sounds of her cheek flashes and things, she possibly is dark grey.

Re: What might she be?
Not the best of photos. I've just noticed the camera flash makes her look like she has a brownish cast over the grey.

Re: What might she be?
She looks almost a twin to the young Satin Heterozygous Silver Gray Band pup I bought and got away from me and still no sign of yet. Can't tell in your pic if your girl is satin or not.
