Set up a bucket trap with bedding and food and some books to make stairs.

Hope you catch her soon.

She was not bitey when I collected her out of the cage she was in but very flight like. I placed her in my carrier and headed home. Went to get her from the carrier into a tank already set up and the second I opened the lid of the carrier she cried, leaped and cleared the side of the carrier and ran under my PC desk(which is a huge and too heavy to move corner desk) and straight into the heat vents and up into the hole in the wall. Please say a prayer to God to guide her out from the walls as I have never once had any pups of that age even hand tamed come back out and be caught. I feel so horrid for her as she deserved a much better life then what she had. To make matters worse I lost my best satin male Dewey II just 24 hours before this.
Hi! My little one escaped today for the first time! Suddenly I saw his little face peeping at me from under my bed. I honestly thought I was going mad! Because he is only kept in this room and I'd just seen him I asked someone to help me get him. We had to lift up the beds because I didn't want to pull them in case we squashed him. So of course he ran under the other one! Anyway eventually I saw the corner he was in, and I'd put his wheel near by hoping he'd climb in, but I also grabbed couple of treats and put them in a little line leading from where he was to the ball. Once he came out to eat one I put the ball over the top of him and slid some cardboard underneath so I could easily scoop him up again. He wasn't best pleased though!
If you don't know where your hammy is, you could try leaving food in different rooms and then when you will be able to block off that room once any food is gone. Then you can leave his cage open in that room, with a way to get in

Personally I'd rip the walls down where the heat vents are to find my ham. I would move heaven and earth and not stop till I'd done my very best.

I hope you find the little bugger soon. I'm sorry for what's happened and I hope your OK.

Our heavenly father,

Please guide Nancy's new hamster back to safety and ensure she remains in good health. She is still very young and has a lot to learn. Nancy is going through a rough patch and needs positive energy sent her way.

Amen

Hope you find your hammy soon, I know it's such a stressful time pop some food around and flour on the floor if the hammy is moving around your room you should see little footprints

Zak so glad to hear everything is settling in well might be worth disconnecting the habitrails if the hamster is already skittish as they do tend to hide away when the have attachments, taming would probably be easier in just the detolf (ovc add them back on tamed) just an idea

Thanks to all of you on this thread who prayed or even thought a request for me to recapture the hamster pup. Our prayers were heard and they were answered early this morning. Details are in a thread under Syrian Hamsters complete with a few photos of her and her name too. The thread is titled "God is still answering prayers".
Zak I now prayer your friend can understand how unsettled new Syrians can be and that they keep striving for their rescue to learn to trust and love them and they can enjoy being a servant to a sweet tame cuddly Hamster for years to come.
