Re: New hamster!
If you do call him Brian then I guess he will be ' a very naughty boy '

Re: New hamster!
Congratulations! He's a real cute hammie! What type of cage set-up do you have if you don't mind me asking?

Re: New hamster!
I looks lovely. I would love a long haired golden hamster one day. I would like to know about your set up too. I love hamster set ups almost as much as I love hamsters.

Re: New hamster!
Sorry for late replies, been away from my macbook most of the weekend.
I have him in a savic hamster heaven
He's been with me now for 2 days. He is still very nervous and has stored all his food in the top house of the hamster heaven and stored a lot of the food in the tube leading up to the green house on the cage.
He has taken a few treats from my fingers, but still seems very nervous and will hide in the tubing or his nest he's made. He's also sleeping loads, so I've not really seen him out and about playing much. He explored a little bit friday evening when I got him but since then he's nested in his bed and spends most of his time there. I'm hoping he will eventually be settled in enough that he won't be so nervous.
My previous hamsters were never this timid, but I guess it'll just take time.
Edit: This is him nibbling on a carrot I gave him yesterday.

Re: New hamster!
He's lovely, congrats!
He certainly looks happy with his carrot
I wouldn't worry about him being timid, they're all different & 2 days is no time at all to settle in, I'm sure he'll come round soon enough.

Re: New hamster!
It took my last hammie 16-17 days to come out from hiding under the bedding. After that was over he became very social & never hid again. He'll come out after he feels secure, each hammie is different in the time they need to adjust. He's really cute!
