The Great Escape!
Today i had gotten up at 9am and went to watch tv on the couch. The hams live in the living room and no one was up moving around so I didn't check on them too closely. At 11:30 when my husband was in the kitchen making lunch I suddenly heard him yelling for me to come quick. He yells that Butterscotch is in the kitchen!! I sit up and look at her cage ( she lives in an aquarium with a mesh lid) and nothing is open or looks amiss. I run to the kitchen and sure enough, there she is, little head poking out from behind the garbage can. Such a naughty little girl! She had chewed a hole in the screen and pulled herself out. She made it all the way from the living room, made a turn and went all the way across the kitchen. She wasn't hurt, just upset I returned her to the cage! She had a big drink, pouched all her food and went to bed. We have no idea how long she was out, but all is well . We have a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom house so we were so lucky she didn't go far.
The naughty girl below.

Re: The Great Escape!
The naughty girl, now you'll have to really watch as once they escape they will try again, and again to re-escape.

Re: The Great Escape!
Ha, what a sweet little escape artist! Willow escaped once but that was my fault for forgetting to close a side door on her cage I didn't usually use after I'd rigged up some tubes for her. She was busily making a nest under my bookcase when I found her but she was actually glad to be caught and was clingy for the first time with me, I think she scared herself! She often made nests under the bookcase after that but only when I actually knew where she was and it was playtime! I hope your little miss naughty stays where you want her to be now!

Re: The Great Escape!
I watched my WW climb higher than ever up her water bottle last night then had a nightmare that she had escaped & I couldn't find her. Woke up & thankfully it was just a bad dream

Re: The Great Escape!
I had one that always wanted out. Got her a rabbit hutch in the end!
Butterscotch is lovely. Her name really suits her.
