Question (Hammie) OCD grooming?

Evening all.

Just wondered if anyone else has an OCD groomer? Frodo goes straight to his grooming spot (back of the cage, as private a spot as he can find) every night after he's been out for a play with me. It's almost as if he can't wait to rid himself of my smell (I don't sell bad - honest!)!

Ha, willow was a busy groomer too, I think she did it to calm down and make herself feel comfortable. I had to take away her sandbath in the end and just give it to her at playtime because she spent so much time in it she made her skin dry. It was all part of house-keeping for her and she would also do it out of boredom. One thing to check, does he only do it after playtime or a lot of the time as well? They can sometimes have parasites or itchy skin to watch out for.

I only see him groom once of an evening, but it's always a very thorough one. Guess it's just a routine thing. Very cute to watch!

I had a rescue hammie do OCD grooming, almost 3 hours straight for a little while when I first brought him home. He came from a stressful environment with no mental stimulation, chew toys, wheel, treats, etc.

After a couple weeks his grooming returned to normal...I asked the vet if it could be OCD & he said it could
