Default Radio Leeds hamster

Our local radio station have something going on right now - until 12:00 apparently - and there is a poor hamster on camera: (NB Facebook link)

I dunno what kind of hamster it is but I'm sure it does not appreciate being in a radio studio and even less being in a tiny cage.

Glad I was too late to see this as I'd have been pretty peed off. Thanks for bringing it to our attention ham888, people do stupid things in the name of entertainment & letting them know it's not funny or clever is an important part of stopping it.
If it had been a zoo animal in a cage, I bet there would have been complaints about it. Not sure why it is ok to do it to a small domestic pet. >

It's a pity comments are not anonymous otherwise I'd have posted one. In the final few minutes of the show some woman dragged the poor hamster out just so the viewers could see.

Poor thing! This is exactly one of the reasons why hamster welfare needs to be much tougher. I would of got banned from the page if I was on Facebook.
