Need Help With Campbells Colouring
Hi!
I'm in need of some help in regards to the colour of a beautiful cambells dwarf, I've never been very confident when it comes to colours and I second-guess myself a lot. I originally thought this hamster was argente however, I have been thrown by the amount of grey/blue in her colour so I thought I'd get some outside opinions.
I've included some photos below. She's red eyed, the main colour is a shade of beige, her tummy is white, her dorsal is grey/blue and she also has a lot of grey/blue around her arches fading up towards the dorsal stripe.
Any help is appreciated!

I have absolutely no idea - I have zero knowledge on colours but she's lovely. I just saw a a similar beiges/sandy coloured while I was being nosy in the pet shop but minus the grey dorsal stripe.

Re: Need Help With Campbells Colouring
Is this a for sure pure bred Russian Campbell, or is it a Hybrid?
There is a color called Blue Fawn but this hamster looks to me to be a cross Hybrid with Mandarin WW Hybrid and and Opal Russian Campbell dwarf.
My blue fawns were much more solid color bodies with a blue gray under coat then your Hamster. She is lovely no matter her coloring though.
Here's a litter of mostly RC blood Hybrids at 13 days old which has an opal(front pup) Normal agouti(behind and right of the opal pup, in the back is two Argente(left two) and one Blue Fawn(pup in back behind the Normal Agouti pup)

This was the Blue Fawn pup as a young adult

As you can see this pup is not at all like yours However mine are beyond any doubt NOT Purebred.

Re: Need Help With Campbells Colouring
She looks like an argente RCD hybrid...however, I don't know where the grey/blue dorsal stripe comes into play? I have an argente male RCD but not as pronounced dorsal stripe? Didn't see Nancy's Hamsters post, before I posted, sure she will be of more help!

Thanks for the info.
She's definitely not purebred which is likely why her colouring is a little off. I decided to do a little more digging into the blue fawn colouring as it is similar to her and it seems like a closer match than argente.
I found this little piece of information on one of the sites I looked at which seems to suggest that a blue fawn doesn't necessarily have to be as 'solid' looking as most people would expect them to be. It makes me wonder if she could still be classified as one. -

Depending on the quality of Opal and Argente used to produce the Blue Fawn it can vary in shade with some being so pale they are almost cream with a blue tint in colour.

It really doesn't matter to me personally what colour she is but as our hamsters are used as educational pets I find it easier to have a 'label' for when people ask about her colouring etc. That's why I want to make sure I have the right name for it.
I don't know how much help this will be but I managed to get another photo of her this time in better light where her colours look a lot closer to real life and you can really see the blue/grey on her sides.

Re: Need Help With Campbells Colouring
Look up Sunfire Dwarf Hamsters(sunfire is just a moniker name given by pet stores to charge lots more money) The Sunfire is nothing more then a mating of a Sapphire Winter White dwarf to an Argente Russian Campbell dwarf. In your girls case I would suspect Sapphire WW crossed with a Sunfire or in the Uk and surrounding areas a Mandrin color Hybrid. I would think calling her a Blue Fawn Hybrid would not be off base for educational purposes. Your girl has more Winter White dwarf features to her head and body then Russian Campbell dwarf features, and is why I say the above cross to produce her color and features.

Erin I don't know much about colours, but Potassium is absolutely stunning 😍. I love your latest sweets cage theme. Is she fawn like you said in her intro video? Anyway I am a huge fan of your channel.

I don't think this Erin is the same one as the YouTube Erin. The one on you tube has a lot of experience with hamsters and knows the different colours.

Re: Need Help With Campbells Colouring
It is because it is Erin and Dan in the profile pic when you look at her public profile and her location is Cyprus (where she lives). Also, when she had loads of hamsters and her robo litter, she called them bobtails. Also, that pink bowl was in Po's first cage tour and she has a tutorial on that carrier in the first pics. As well as this, it looks exactly like Potassium, her current hamster and this thread was started around the time she got Po.
I swear I'm not a stalker , just a huge fan.
