Question about my adopted hamster
Ok, I have two hamsters. My first one is a Russian Dwarf named Cassius and I've had him for a while and the pet store didn't tell me how old he was when I got him. Today I went to a different pet store and adopted a 4 week old hamster, who is bigger than my Russian Dwarf, named Otis. He has red eyes, his fur is orange and white, and I'm pretty sure he is a Syrian but the description paper didn't say and I just want to make sure that he is.

Re: Question about my adopted hamster
Hello RodentMaster, and welcome to Hamster Central. That there little furball is a Syrian! In fact he looks a whole lot like my new Syrian, Tim E. Bear. I hope to see more of him here on the site.

Re: Question about my adopted hamster
Syrian. As he grows, he will need a larger cage and wheel as Syrians being the largest of the hamster species require larger habitats but you don`t need to concern yourself about that just now. Four weeks seem quite young still so he could be prone to stress and wet tail, so keeping his room quiet and allowing him to settle in and not to full cage cleans are all good moves. x
