Re: Help/Advice please :)
I have the opposite problem and don't like dwarf hamsters after having one as a kid so I empathise. I think the idea of starting with gloves is a really good idea; I hope it all works out for you and Odi.

Re: Help/Advice please :)
You're already making progress with Odi, continue what you're doing and go at a pace that suits both of you. I love the dwarf hamsters.

Re: Help/Advice please :)
A little update
I had Odi out for a good run around the other day, he was running over my hands and I've been picking him up in my hands, he did however test my finger with his teeth, it wasn't hard and I didn't freak out!
I'm not entirely sure what I was worried about!

Well done!
I think the thought of being bitten is probably worse than the real thing, really glad you & Odi are making such good progress now.

Re: Help/Advice please :)
Thought I'd update you all on Odi and me
We're doing brilliantly, Odi now runs all over me and I'm happy to put my hands in the cage with him, I still get a bit nervous if he moves too quickly.
He got another cage to upgrade from his tiny one and I've just ordered the Alaska cage for him.
All in all, we're doing great, I love playing with him and having him out and about, I have to be a bit careful because I have a cat too but we're all good

That is lovely news! It takes time to build trust and confidence and it sounds like he trusts you.

That's nice. Hope he likes the new cage once it arrives.

Re: Help/Advice please :)
Fantastic! Twinkle and I took a while to bond, going at a slower pace really worked for us. It's so rewarding when the trust is there. Congrats to you & Obi.
