Default Corny the Owl - safety issue

If anyone has a Corny the Owl boredom breaker toy please be careful as the corn leaf pompom head and body are made using elastic, so not particularly pet safe. Rosewood makes no mention of elastic on the packaging and claim that it is made from 'natural corn leaf and edible papers.... with a small amount of non-toxic/pet safe glue'. The eyes are made of felt which is also not particularly suitable but at least they are easy to remove. I've just bought 4 and I won't be giving them to my pets. I will complain to Rosewood and bring it to the attention of the company I bought them from.

Oh dear, I have one for my rabbit (lucky for me I guess the eyes fell off in transit)...will definitely be keeping an eye on it now!

I hope you get the response you want from them.

Gosh, I didn't realise I forgot to update. I had a reply from Rosewood and they really weren't that concerned. They said they had no reports about any harm being caused so they didn't think the elastic was a problem. They also consider felt (used for the eyes) as safe because it is used with other animals. They did say they would look in to using something else but never got back to me about it.

I don't buy anything much from Rosewood now as I've had other things I wasn't impressed with. One of these was a suspension bridge. I'd already had a refund from Amazon but mentioned it to Rosewood when I contacted them about Corny. They sent me another and it was just as bad as the first and unusable.
