Hi there and welcome, you're right Timmy is lovely, he looks very cute.

Please don't take any offence in what i'm about to say but i've noticed the cage in the background of your pics and have to say it's totally unsuitable for a Syrian Hamster. I can't remember the name of the cage but it was in Pets @ Home before Xmas and I bought one (god knows what I was thinking ) for a Robo that I adopted from there and had to move him to something different in just over a week because of the lack of space and the sheer difficulty in cleaning it, getting the hamster out and it constantly falling apart. I would also imagine Timmy would have a little problem fitting in the tube thing that leads to the house as my Robo filled it with just enough room to spare. Also the wheel in it, is not a decent size for a Syrian, think the diameter of it is roughly 6", again my Robo just about fitted on it (he's fairly chunky for a Robo).

Maybe it's worth considering upgrading his home to something a little (well a lot) bigger. Trust me he'll love you for it, more space for toys, running around etc. Take a look on the cage review section on this forum to see some of our set ups, might give you some ideas.

Anyway, welcome again!!

hiya, dont worry no offence taken, timmy lives in 2 cages connected together by tubes, the cage he is pictured in is just one of his 2. I agree it is a small cage, but he will be moving to his new cage soon, a convirted rat/guinea pig cage...i just have to cover it with wire as the gaps are too big atm.
I dont have the wheel in the cage....its far to small....
I appreciate your advise, and agree with you, but it is only a temp meassure.... and as i say he lives in 2 connecting cages atm
Thanks for you looking out 4 timmy....beleive me animal welfare is at the top of my adgender and wouldnt want him halmed!
