Syrian ear advice please
Charlie seems to have kind of hard pink bits behind both ears that protrude a bit and feel like cartilage or something. Is this normal? I have either only just noticed or they have just appeared.
I don't think I've noticed them before when stroking behind his ears.

Re: Syrian ear advice please
Does anyone have any advice on ears please - last time I thought he had a lump it turned out to be his testicles lol. Just wondered what ears are supposed to feel like at the back (like when you stroke them behind the ear).

Re: Syrian ear advice please
I remember reading once a hamster had lumps behind his ears. And he went to the vets and it turned out to be ear warts. There common and a hamster I once had had one. The vet removed it while I was there. However I'm not suggesting it is that im just letting you know that it sound similar. Is your hamster acting normally though? It doesn't seem Ill? Still eating and drinking well?

Re: Syrian ear advice please
He seems fine. I just noticed when I was stroking behind his ears last night. It's probably best to get him looked over by a vet but as I am so rubbish on Hamster anatomy thought I would check first after the testicle episode lol. The fact that it is both ears makes me wonder if it is something that has always been there and he's getting hair loss there or something.

Re: Syrian ear advice please
It doesn't sound like a tumour as there is one behind each ear. But defiantly better to get him checked out as hamsters never show symptoms of an illness until very late on. So yes defiantly go to the vets. The testicle situation made me laugh out loud! Hope everything goes okay! And keep me updated!

I've just given Smokey some fuss and made a point of stroking behind her ears, and I am pretty sure she has knobbly bits - I don't think she was too impressed with having her ears stroked though!

Yes I think it may be something all hamsters have behind there ears. As the ear warts she had were in her ear.

Lol! If they were there before then they just seem more pronounced. There's nothing much to see - it just looks like bony bits but I don't remember noticing them before - maybe he's losing some hair there.

Re: Syrian ear advice please
Are you saying there are identical lumps in an identical location behind both ears? In other words that they match?
