Hello all! I'm new to this forum, so I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place for this thread, but I would appreciate it if you guys would bear with me!
So, Kurinzi (named after a bad teacher of mine
) is a Syrian Hamster, which my brother recently got for me from a pet store (yes, I know how terrible it is. I would've had it another way if it wasn't a total surprise). He's (I don't know the gender yet, but I'm just assuming its a boy) been here nearly three days, and already I think I've made decent progress: Any tips?
1) Kurinzi takes food from my hand, is okay with it in it's bin cage, plays games with me (consisting of him going into his overturned igloo and then cups, occasionally popping off my hand when he gets off), and goes out of his wheel running to jump on my hand and get back on the wheel when I do happen to lay it there. He does jump off when I attempt to scoop him up though, but I expected this considering it's only been a full couple of days. [What can I do in the future to gain his trust more, and how long do you think it will take?]
