Yummy hasn't had anymore blood from her butt which is good, however... She is swaying when she walks and moves very slowly, her ears are always back so she's not happy, she is losing weight a bit. She is an old lady about three or just close to it, I checked her today she is breathing very fast and hard but not wheezing she was also colder than usual. Her house is very warm so her feeling colder than normal is worrying.

I think I will have to take her in to the vet this week, to have her helped to the rainbow bridge. Mostly because I don't want her to get worse or end up as skinny as Lunar did due to age, I think this is the best decision considering her condition and the way her ears are. I'll let you know what happens.

So sorry to hear this Blueray, it does sound as though helping her on her way is going to be the kindest thing now, a sad time but she has had a really good long life with you.

I believe you're right, thank you. Yes she has a good life, been a little tough on her at times but she always pulled through. She's really not herself any longer, no longer running on her wheel or trying to escape, she eats and drinks but watching her and her being cold. Its time, I will make arrangements in the week.

I am new here so I dont know about little yummy, but I want to give my greatest sympathies to you. I'm sorry that you must prepare to let go of your little one, but I'm sure you took excellent care of her and loved her throughout her life, and she definitely is thankful for that. Please keep us all updated on how she is and how things go

Thank you. I've done my best for her and she had a good life, when she was younger she kept escaping and even spent a night in the basement. She got down there during one of her escape adventures, we couldn't find her til the next day. Yummy also had pyometra so got her spayed, happened right after her first heat and she was operated on pretty quickly. Our vets adore her and Yummy is famous there as the only hamster they spayed, so she often gets special treatment when she goes in.

I will keep everyone updated on what happens to her, she might pass on her own due to her body temperature dropping I know this is the first sign of going. I will take her in soon as I can this week, to make sure she no longer lingers on when she's declining as she is.

So sad to read this, I know Yummy hasn't been herself lately and it's never easy making the decision to send her on her way. Yummy's had a wonderful life considering she had to go through surgery at an early age, she's proved she's a warrior and an absolute diamond. You've had many adventures together and have so many beautiful memories. Big hugs xxx

Thank you Thin Lizzy *hugs* I've made a memorial thread for her, as I took her in today.
