Going away for the weekend..

Ill be leaving Hammy for the first time.

This makes me sad. D:

He will be stopping with my father-in-law. But he isnt going to be doing anything but checking on him everyday.

So, do i leave food scattered around the cage for him to find? Its only fri - mon so its not too long.

Also, his water.. Im planning on filling up both of his water bottles. I know he probably wont need 2, but it makes me feel better.

He hates coming out to play in his playpen now so im pretty sure he will be happy to be left alone.

Is there anything else i can do to make him more comfortable and happier?

I wouldn't worry too much, it's not that long & if he doesn't really like to come out to play I'm sure he won't mind & will be fine, it's probably much harder on you than him!
Scattering some food & maybe hiding a few little treats around the cage (maybe in a treat toy he has to rip apart to get to) will help to keep him occupied other than that I don't think there's much you need to do.

It's hard isn't it?! All sounds fine - hidden food, hidden treats, plenty of water and company. But don't forget to send him a postcard or he'll never forgive you lol.

I think they'll be fine with 2 days' worth of food and water for the weekend

He'll be fine! Some extra treats in his cage will keep him happy.
But, like serendipity mentioned - don't forget to send him a postcard lol!
Bring him something back from where you're going too!
