Emergency? should I be alarmed?
My detolf cage has two homemade lids. A section of the wire mesh has come loose and im not sure if a staple fell into Meeko's bedding.
I searched for the staple and couldn't find it in the bedding. I then checked the lid and there is no sign of a stable but no signes of holes apart from the holes that the wire mesh made.
And I cant clean the cage out as I need to get some more bedding.
What should I do?

Got a magnet? A nice strong one if possible. Just swish it slowly through the bedding and you should find it

Re: Emergency? should I be alarmed?
Take him out and then put the bedding through a sieve. If it's in there then it will get trapped in sieve no problem

Re: Emergency? should I be alarmed?
I used a staple gun to attach the wire mesh to the lid though so I don't know if the staple would of come out of the lid. I did lean on the lid though but I tried leaning on it again and no staples went out

Re: Emergency? should I be alarmed?
I just moved one of Meeko's house that has a base to the part of the cage that I think (if the staple fell from) is.

If you are worried it's there, keep an eye out that he doesn't burrow under the house until you have the chance to do a proper clean out to make sure it isn't there. If he doesn't that prob works as a temp solution until you get more bedding

Re: Emergency? should I be alarmed?
Yeah I am not sure what to do as I am leaving the house there and Meeko doesn't really like to burrow. However I had to move Meeko's water to place the house there. So I am not really sure if there is a staple in the detolf cage that Meeko is in.

Re: Emergency? should I be alarmed?
I just had a look in the substrate of the detolf cage for Meeko where I think the staple fell and I cant find it.
However I don't know if there is a staple or not in the substrate of the detolf cage for Meeko

Re: Emergency? should I be alarmed?
If you're still unsure, you might have to take out the bedding and go through it section by section.
Have you got a magnifying glass?
