Me that is, not the hams
Both the hammie cages are on tables with shelves under them. I store their playpen toys etc on the shelves. After the girls have finished using their exercise balls I rinse them out and store them, with the lids off, on the shelf too.
As is usual for me, I got up this morning, gave the dogs their breakfast and then settled with my first cup of coffee of the day to have a quick catch up on HC
There was movement, something caught the corner of my eye.......
There on the table shelf, under Ebonys cage, something was moving......
WILLOW, it was Willow......
She had climbed onto the shelf and then into her open ball, and she was either trying to climb back out of it again, or run in it, but because both doors were off the ball didn't move so she was stuck. And yes the ball she chose to climb into was her one and not Ebonys one, which was standing next to hers, she knew the difference in the balls too LOL.
The thing is, I hadn't let her out of her cage, but her door was open, I must have forgotten to close it last night when I put her back from the playpen.
I honestly am going senile, I left her cage door open a few weeks ago too, all day that time
Willow is a very very good girl, instead of running away, or hiding, or getting into mischief, she found her ball and wanted to play
How long she had been out of her cage, or stuck in her ball I have no idea
She wasn't stressed or tired. I've just put her back in her cage, and CLOSED the door, she had a little mooch around, opened some treat toys and pouched the goodies, ran on her saucer for a few minutes and now she has gone to bed
Once again how very lucky am I?
If that had been Ebonys cage I had left open then she would have gotten herself into all sorts of naughtiness and mischief and would probably be missing for days!
I thought I had gotten myself into the habit of double checking the hammie cage doors, but it looks like I didn't do it last night
This is where I found my gorgeous girl
