Default Houdini strikes again...

Rhys has made short work of the zoozone:

The little monkey has chewed right through the holes which are meant for the waterbottle! He started this little 'project' about a month a go an we didn't think he would get far to be honest lol!

On the plus side it means that I can shoop around for an even bigger and better cage!!

OMG what a little nibblemonster! He will be costing you a fortune. Can you block it off with metal plates or anything?

Eeep! How naughty!

Herbert started doing that so I shoved rolled up newspaper in the holes to prevent him from nibbling them. I moved him into something different pretty quickly though otherwise I think he would have done just what Rhys has done!

Hamsters certainly have a way of making you know when they don't like their cage don't they? And these animals are supposed to be 'ideal children's pets' - there have been times when it's been harder to keep Herbert happy than all my other animals put together!

Still, enjoy his naughtiness. Herbert is suddenly showing signs of old age creeping on and he doesn't get up hardly at all these days. When he does it's just for a potter about and not a long time. I wish he was still driving us mad with his hyperactiveness in a way....

My last hamster (who I did actually rename Houdini because he escaped from his previous owner five times!) did the same thing to his Duna. Luckily I noticed quick enough and plugged up the hole so he couldn't do any further damage*

I ended up having to take everything plastic besides his wheel out of the cage and replace them with all wooded things - which he refused to chew

Naughty hams!

*He only escaped once while he was with me and that was my own stupid fault for underestimating his awesome anti-gravity powers :P

I'm really sorry to hear that Hanlou I'm dreading the time coming where my lot are preparing to go into their last slumber. I supose the most we can do for our little guys and gals is to make life as interesting and as fulfilling as possible!

Poor Rhys is certainly not happy at being in this shoebox of a cage. I let him run around on the floor last night, he kept climbing over our house bunnies lol! They were flopped down on the floor and were just like "There's something small and furry on my back. Is it food? No? I don't give one then" lol.

Heleni0, I know what you mean about them prefering to chew plastic rather than wood. I've spen an absolute fortune on wooden toys for Rhys which he shuns in favour for chewing his house and cage. The poor Robos now have cages crammed with his cast-off wooden toys!

Wow what an escape artist! Can you block the hole off? On the other hand, cage shopping is great fun
