No it was the Highworth show a few weeks ago. It's South of England that is NHC not Southern - Southern is BHA. I joined Southern too now (lol my student loan being spent before I receive it!).

Do you show hamsters then Pophammy?

So far we have only shown in the pet class, helped as book stewards, contributed to the journal etc. but on Sunday we are getting our first show hamster... a Black-eyed Cream, 4 weeks old and he is called Nelson. We are very excited. Will keep you posted how he does when he is older.

Sorry Emma you are quite right re SOE and Southern. It's all very confusing. I think we should all be one big happy hammy family. If you know Herbert Hamster from the journal you know us!!!! Cryptic clue!!!

Oh yes I've seen you posting on the NHC mailing list I post on there occasionally (as Emma also) usually in response to health questions. Where did you get Nelson from in the end, I remember you searching for a cream?

I'm planning on doing a similar thing, getting 1 or 2 good quality "show" hamsters, to be mostly pets but so I can play at showing until I graduate and can take over the world with a proper hamstery

Hi Emma, Nelson is coming from a Northern Club member - Craftyskill hams. We are going to get a female from Tristar I hope who are near you in Bath. They breed the Crufts of creams but too far to travel for us just at the moment.(yorkshire) They will be mainly pets like yours too as all hams should be..loved not for their beauty but for themselves but then they are all beautiful anyway! The older part of the Pophammy two has had hams from university days too! Thats a long time. Choose your colour of show/pet carefully as certain colours keep their coats and show well for longer than others if you are only keeping a couple for now. Keep in touch
