Adoption Center or Pet store?

I was looking on Craigslist and saw an ad for adoptable hamsters. It said to bring a cage with food and water bottle equiped, and also said the hamsters were NOT FOOD! It is going for $10 and I'm not sure how the hamsters conditions will be. Any advice?

The owner/breeder appears to be quite responsible. I think it's good that she wants to see the cage before she lets them leave. Although you can't tell clearly from pictures, they do appear healthy and well cared for. Is it feasible for you to visit them before committing to taking one home? That way you will be able to see for yourself how they are being raised.

As an aside, I really really really want the one in the 2nd picture. Do you think she would fed-ex him/her to the UK?

They look fairly healthy to me as well. An ad like that on craigslist is a rarity! Usually they make me want to cry.

I don't know how well that's going to go.. I like the ones in the 3 and 4th pictures and I can't wait for maybe 2 weeks in the future after we have all of his/her supplies!

I like #5, its the poo spitting image of Pooky at that age. Clearly the person is a breeder of sorts and loves raising hammies.....I'd go for it. I think the ad is genuine, from an 'amateur' breeder, but a hammy fan nonetheless......!

I don't know whether or not they breeded it themselves or are reaching out adoption, but either way I now beleive, they should be lovable pets!
