Default HELP! Blood!

My 2 Russian hamsters seem to be squabbling. I bought them 2 days ago. I just heard more squeeking and went to investigate and noticed some blood on the bedding. They were both seperate when I got to the cage and cleaning there genitals, and although one doesnt seem to be bleeding at all, the only place I could see a bit of blood was the others genitals?! Does that mean its a girl and boy? The white one does tend to jump on the brown ones back x

I think you need to separate them now. The most common place for them to attack each other and serious damage to be done is on the genitals. When one goes over on its back the other bites this area. It can be quite serious. It does not mean they are male and female if one jumps on the others back as this is often a dominance signal. They are more likely to be the same sex if the fighting is serious. It is also possible one is a pregnant female and resents the males attentions. If they were mine I would separate them now.

Yeah you should definitely seperate them ASAP.

Even if no more violence occurs theres obviously a dominant hamster which would make the other one subdued, unfriendly and unhappy!

I would suggest two smaller cages, totally separate, would be better as if you divide a cage the submissive hammie will still always smell the other one and live in fear that he will reappear.
