I seem to have a lot of these heart failures since getting hamsters
This morning when I got up I realized that Seren's cage had somehow been nudged just slightly off its base and that there was enough room for her to squeeze out! I wasn't sure how it happened or even when though I was fairly certain it had been fine only yesterday. It wasn't off so badly that it was obvious, it was just one corner and I just happened to be in a position to see it. Anyway, I went through her bedding and checked her usual sleeping spots...no Seren
I'm getting really worried by this point and grabbed a flashlight and started crawling around on the floor and looking under and behind everything, inside the stove, you name it! After a while I calmed down a bit and decided to have a closer look in her cage. I picked up the terracotta wine cooler she likes to sleep in and held it up to the light and sure enough, there was her nose waaaay at the back, peeping over the top of her packed-in nesting material. She was there the whole time, sleeping soundly and blissfully unaware of my panic
