Default Shall I put my hamster back in old cage till hammock comes???

You'll know me by my always asking questions. I'm waiting for a hammock style thing to cover the whole of snow whites cage, to stop him from taking harsh falls as the cage drop is HIGH. Would this be okay just to put him back in till his safety stuff comes ?!

It would probably be best for you to put him back in his first cage until the stuff comes. Mostly, this is so you don't wear yourself out worrying about him falling. You know it's a really high drop so you'll be running over to check constantly. He won't be harmed with a few more days in the old cage until his things arrive. Better safe than sorry.

Will this give him wet tail cause I keep moving him about? I was up all night worrying, and keep examining his legs which he is not impressed at all about lol!

It shouldn't. He hasn't really settled into the big cage. He just had an adventure and now he'll be back in a familiar place. Better yet, can you remove the shelving until his things arrive? That way, he's safe and he can stay in the new cage.

That's what I would do. When do you expect the hammock to arrive?

In a few days time. I just don't want him to fall and hurt himself in the mean time I know it sounds pathetic but if he does I will know I could have prevented it. He seems just okay in his old cage.

He really hasn't been in the new cage long enough to be bonded to it. What you can do until the hammock comes is let him play in the big cage for 15 minutes or so each day with you there watching him. This way, when the hammock gets there, you can put him for playtime and just let playtime become a permanent move. I don't think you sound pathetic at all. It really is a high drop and he really could get hurt if he falls. Prevention is always a good thing.
