SO UH... this happened...
... yep. LOL!
Okay, so the story is, I've been speaking a lot with Hammy20 on facebook, and she told me about this little high end pet store in our area that sells GOOD breeder stock hams, and said I should check it out. I figured, "heck, why not" and we had been talking about how we both wanted a tortie.
So of course I walk in, and lo and behold, they have two torts almost HIDDEN t the very top of the hamster section, I could just barely see the tricolour. They didn't have a for sale sign either. I asked to see them and they were both very calm, though scared, and I quickly messaged Hammy20, then my SO. I had to prove I was feeding them properly and show them I had suitable housing for them. I actually really liked that and made me feel like if I actually did associate (once I breed) with a store, I can get them to make sure my babies go to good homes.
I was actually supposed to be going somewhere, but I drove both girls (I bought them a carrier to put the boxes in because they were going to chew their way out in seconds) up to the house and settled both in. My SO came just as I was leaving and brought in one of the new wodent wheels... 11'' is BIG.
Anyways, the top girl is staying with me, she's unnamed right now. The bottom girl is significantly bigger, and is going to Hammy20 when I go to pick up the dom spot baby from her on Saturday (SO said no runt, we're full). I believe Hammy20 is naming her Mocha but she'll have to confirm.

It was absolutely not expected and such an utter coincidence! I had a dream about getting a tortie a few nights ago. I've never seen them in Ontario before.

Yes, one dom spot and one tortie. I feel bad too! But there's no way he's letting me set up another tank, and I've spent a LOT on hamsters. We have a spare 40gal but then I'd feel bad with Java, Tortie and Dom in 20/29gals. Poor little guy. Hammy20 assures me he'll get a good home though.

I think you can find them you just have to look. I would have never thought to look in this store for hams, but they get them from a breeder who actually cares about good quality hams.

OMG! OMG! OMG! They are crazy beautiful! Geez, I may just drive up to Canada and meet you at the border Heckomi! I was there a couple of years back, so I really can do it . My lord, they are unbelievably gorgeous.

Re: SO UH... this happened...
Question; How do you get an "torti" colored ham? (breeding wise) or is that a standard colour?
