Re: Help me with learning my hamster colours?
Hmmm! How tricky. Maybe different info from different sites. Yeah, the darker cream really threw me off because of it being so rich in colour.
And thank you! I figure if I can tell colours by seeing them, then I'll be able to grasp the genetic code easier. All steps towards my eventual hamstery in 2-3 years from now (so plenty of time to learn genetics and build up my knowledge!).

Re: Help me with learning my hamster colours?
Haha, tricky is good, keeps me on my toes.
She looks sable to me, but she has some odd markings which don't scream sable, and she's quite light.
Is she cinnamon with umbrous? Looks SH to me.

Re: Help me with learning my hamster colours?
Evey was golden umbrous banded When we first got her I thought she might be sable but her breeder confirmed her as being golden

Re: Help me with learning my hamster colours?
I was debating either cinnamon or golden! What a dark golden, but I suppose I posted that weird golden umbrous yesterday... should have known!
Black recessive dappled, short hair? He has the RD patterning Aly spoke of earlier, as opposed to the dom spot.

Re: Help me with learning my hamster colours?
Going by Alyzimm's post earlier, it looks like RD: Dom Spot
Since dom spot would be more across the body.
Though it could be banded with dom spot, which looks like RD.

Re: Help me with learning my hamster colours?
I thought so And in my defence I figure Badger is neither a sneaky tort nor a difficult umbrous ham lol
Ah ok... Now I see why you didn't post him earlier. Its a safe bet that he's black if that helps? I'd say probably recessive dappled (also known as badger faced as far as I'm concerned) but as ever, I'm not an expert
